Claris FileMaker is a low-code tool that helps problem solvers create, share, and integrate custom apps that address their unique business challenges. Even if that meant there was a box where I handwrote in "Caterpillar" and then I had to retype "Caterpillar" into the normal text cell, that would be faster than going back and forth between my screen and my handwritten notes. FileMaker Pro is the tool you use to create a custom app. I've been using a Microsoft Surface tablet with handwriting in Excel cells, and that's a reasonable alternative, but since all my data ends up in Filemaker, it would be great to have an option. I've tried the various plugins that I can find, for example, for signature capture or drawing, and all have issues. FileMaker Pro is a low-code tool with pro-code power. I've tried to look around, but it doesn't look like there is an efficient way to capture handwritten notes in Filemaker. I use Filemaker Pro for tracking information about equipment inspections, but at the moment, I'm writing on paper when I'm in the field and then transferring it to Filemaker on my return to the office.
